Applications Engineer
Location: Dallas, Texas
Compensation
: $60,000 to $65,000 per annum
Position Summary –
This position is responsible for assisting both company sales representatives
and its customers in selecting the appropriate company product to meet an
application need.  This technical service often extends to suggesting other
non-competing manufacturer’s products to be used in conjunction with a
company product when system level guidance is needed.

Principal Duties and Areas of Responsibilities –
- Report to Director of Marketing.
- Provide technical assistance in support of the Marketing departmental needs.
- Work as part of a Sales and Marketing Team in support of fulfilling customer needs.
- Assist potential and existing customers in the correct application of
existing company products.
- Assist Sales Force in determining optimum sales response.
- Identify and develop relationships with key groups and users within target
customer facilities that have a need for company products.
- Develop and maintain specifications for company products and or client requirements.
- Coordinate the strategic use of specifications with sales and other marketing personnel to
maximize account penetration and subsequent sales both domestically and internationally.
- Conduct product presentations for prospective customers.
- Attend and present papers at society/market related conferences (SAE, I.E.E.E.).
- Represent company products at trade shows and product exhibitions.
- Support the development of proposals and quotations.
- Follow up with customers to ensure successful product installation and acceptance.
- Participate in the forecasting of potential business from any individually assigned  accounts.
- Assist the Marketing Department with the promotions of products.
- Conduct audits of company equipment manuals for accuracy and content.
- Assist in development and maintenance of company equipment specifications and literature.

- Maintain departmental library of industry standards and specifications.
Education, Specialized Knowledge, and Experience
Education:
- College degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent applications engineering experience
in electrical distribution systems involving company type products.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license a plus.
Specialized Knowledge, and Experience:

2-5 years experience
Consider these questions and facts before applying:

1) Have you worked with or sold 400Hz electrical power generating systems?
2) Do you have experience with 400Hz power distribution in aircraft?
3) Do you have experience with power distribution in ships and commercial facilities?
4) Do you have a Professional Engineering (PE) License?
5) Do you have technical knowledge of solid state frequency converters used in
either defense, aerospace or marine markets?
6) Do you have Field experience working on, operation of, installation of electrical
power generating equipment?
- Salary range of $50,000 to $65,000 with overrides - Relocation to Dallas, Texas? U.S. citizen?
Prepare technical reviews of specifications and provide well-organized summaries? Speak to customer groups about products and applications? Willing to travel approximately 20 to 30%? Experience with electrical specifications such as MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1399, IEEE-519?
Familiar with National Electrical Code (NEC)?Familiar with Environmental Standards such as MIL-STD-416/462, MIL-STD-810, RTCA-160, NEMA-250? Familiar with safety and testing standards such as UL, CE, TUV? Familiar with data transmission standards such as RS 232, IEEE-488, RS-485, Ethernet. Some of the clients customers are military in nature and therefore require candidates to be US Citizens.
